There was a time when a Gigabyte of storage was unheard of, and even when GB became a common storage capacity, 300GB would’ve been considered excessive. Not anymore. Nowadays, with the widespread of digital audio and video and the constantly expanding file sizes, storage capacity is in high demand.

The Maxtor One Touch line of external hard disks provides users with an easy way of storing large amounts of files in a portable, easy to manage, rugged and fast drive. No longer must they suffer with carrying multiple CDs not to mention their fragile nature and the long wait for each of them to get recorded successfully.

Additionally, with the provided software backing up your important data (or even your entire internal hard disk) is only a push of a button away – hence the name “One Touch”.

As mentioned above, this drive has a storage capacity of 300GB and it can be connected via USB 2.0 / 1.1 or Firewire IEEE 1394 (known on the Mac as iLink). Sadly, the rotational speed is only at 5400 rpm. It would’ve been a good speed boost if it was 7200 rpm, but I guess for the purposes this external drive is intended for it’s acceptable. This also applies to the buffer size of only 2mb in contrast to the currently common 8mb.
