iRiver's S10 is truly a genie in a very small bottle. Though it wears an expensive price tag, the features packed in this mini digital audio player, especially the presence of a screen and iRiver's handy D-click system make the deal worth it.

iRiver's D-Click is a touch screen navigational system that supersedes the standard directional pads found on many DAP's. The D-Click system places the user at a lot more ease, particularly in a player as tiny as this where many will consider the standard navigational buttons too small.

The main playback controls in S10's D-Click system are available at the four corners of the screen. While volume controls and power on/off are still available in the tangible form. Beware that pressing both of the volume buttons simultaneously will lock your player, you'll also need to apply the same trick if you want to place your player on hold.

iRiver S10 boasts of crispy text and bright screen. You can also modify the brightness setting to one of three available options and depending on the brightness setting you choose, your battery may last longer or exhaust earlier than expected.

You can customize your S10 to present a slideshow of images stored on the player as a screensaver. A digital clock and and music visualizations are also available as options for screensavers.

Transferring music files to your S10 is a no brainer. Either you can drag and drop via the USB or make use of the iriver plus 3 software which is quite handy for file management.

While crafting the S10 model, iRiver has maintained the high standards of audio quality. However you'll have to get rid of the included earphones at the soonest. The model can play a wide variety of music formats including MP3, WMA and OGG.

As we mentioned earlier on, S10 comes with plenty of spicy features and one of them is the photo viewer with an option to present all stored images in a slideshow. Next is the FM radio with 20 presets available. You can not only record music directly from the FM station but can schedule it in advance, something rarely seen on any other digital audio player launched prior to S10. Last but not the least of the spicy features is the digital clock with alarm function.

With all the above features in hand, you can enjoy the player for up to eight hours in a go and then the battery needs a recharge.
